Talks

Enterprising Entrepreneurs

On March 26, 2026, shared excerpts from my newly published book, Enterprising Entrepreneurs: 16 Women of Color and Accomplishment, with a room full of thoughtful, accomplished women who are building businesses, leading with purpose, and encouraging one another along the way.

For this talk, I focused on three remarkable women from the book. As I shared their stories, I was reminded once again that entrepreneurship is about much more than business. It is about vision, persistence, service, and the willingness to create something meaningful, even when the path is not easy. Through my Women of Color and Accomplishment series, I paint portraits and tell the stories of women whose contributions deserve far more recognition than they have received.

I am deeply grateful to NAWBO, New York Life, and Renaissance Center for sponsoring this event in San Francisco and for making space for these stories to be shared.

Dr. Cindy Acker’s Talk, Sept. 26, 2025

Dr. Cindy Acker spoke at the September 26 Coloring Party for the Teaching Black History Exhibit.

A quote: “It is amazing how through the arts people can receive information that they would not receive just being told.

And so they couldn’t walk away from it as they walked around and they saw the work that the children were doing, they were moved, and that’s exactly what we wanted.”
