Carol Jacobsen has been painting since childhood. She has studied art at the University of Minnesota, where she earned a B.A., as well as at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the College of Marin, and San Francisco State. Color is her main passion. As she writes of her art: “Whether I’m doing abstract or more realistic paintings, I always use color to express the feelings I want to convey. As I work on an idea, I start by layering the various colors, then get into a meditative state which gives expression to the images and stories of the painting.” Her art has been awarded the Best of Show for the International Society of Acrylic Painters in 2005 and has been featured in Artweek. Many of her artworks are held in corporate spaces and in private collections both in the United States and internationally. Her current series is called “Women of Color and Accomplishment”.
