The Origin Story
In 2020, following the murder of George Floyd, Carol was spurred on to speak out against racism in this country. Inspired by Martin Luther King, Jr. quote ““I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character,” she started painting portraits of overlooked Black women who had overcome barriers of race and gender to achieve their dreams and give back to their community.
