I have won awards for my art work, but my most satisfying art has been collaborative efforts with elephants. I now have a series of 6 paintings that I have done with elephants in Thailand. I produced a children’s book, Painting with an Elephant, about this experience.
Earning my degree in cultural anthropology has made many of my travels focused on the people in the areas I’ve visited. A travel adventure to Africa in 2013 brought me to the Omo Valley in Ethiopia. The life of the tribal people in the area is threatened by the leasing of large tracts of land to the Chinese near their traditional villages. Omo Valley: Vanishing Tribes shows how these people lived in 2013 before these changes had an impact to their way of life.
